Also, its AoE attack sets up a focus-orb harmonic combo. It can keep anyone in perpetual stun while you beat them up with any martial style, just switch back to it after 1 or 2 combos with the martial style and do one combo with Storm Dragon. The others are all perfectly good and you win with them just fine (personally I favor Thousand Cuts and Legendary Strike over White Demon), but Leaping Tiger is overpowered due to this. It hits fast enough (with some speed boosts of course) to keep enemies in perpetual stagger, enabling easy wins.

Is White Demon any good? Is there a trick to using the spear or is it really inferior to the sword? And what the heck is the effective strategy for fighting the bigger demons? I could never take one without losing a huge chunk of health. I've gotten an itch to revisit this little classic and I'm wondering what to go with. Worked bloody well on those rare occasions when I could spare the Chi to power it.Īs for Support Styles, I sunk some points into the starting style and the lightning one, but after getting Paralyzing Palm there never seemed to be a reason to use anything else. Magic-wise I ignored the starting Flame/Ice power you get and just sunk points into the alignment-specific magic style. Twin Swords: I just loved the speed, even though they were better for one-on-one than a big brawl. Never could figure the staff out properly. Sword: I liked being able to strike multiple enemies in a tight melee. The hits were far too weak and I had a recurring problem with being interrupted before I could finish a combo. Thousand Cuts: Maybe I played it wrong, but it just seemed totally worthless to me.

Legendary Strike: Also okay, though the range felt a bit short. Leaping Tiger: Decent, though the Wolverine claws always seemed a bit silly to me. I've played the game before and here's what I've tried:
